Glad this thing didn't come out in Europe...

What? What is this? A Nintendo lock? Back in the day, everyone tried to exploit the success of the NES by making all kinds of stuff for it. The Homework First Nintendo lock is one of these.

The concept is to lock the loading bay of the NES so the kids can't put the cartridge to play. It was used to limit the use of the NES by kids, so they ...did their "Homework First". Like there was no other way to prevent the kids from playing, like hiding the power supply, etc.

This "thing" was unlicensed and had the concept of the steering wheel lock of the car. It "grasped" between the bottom gray plastic and the loading tray and to unlock it you had to enter the combination.

I found one on eBay recently for about 30 dollars, but I didn't bother bidding as I don't think this qualifies as a NES accessory.
